I have been smitten with this variety since i first laid eyes on them.  I am so excited to have added this variety to our farm. 

May 2023 we headed on a road trip to Oklahoma to pick up some incredible Black Silver Marans, and some Blue Silver Marans. 


Unfortunately, this line has some known issues.  Back there somewhere is a mahogany gene resulting in some brassiness on the hackles, sickles etc. There have also been the odd bird showing up with yellow feet.  This is the same line that most US breeders are working with.  We are culling hard to select for no yellow feet, and for clean silver.  The birds themselves are a good size, and have a decent egg colour, and have lovely temperaments.  This pen is a mixed pen; you will get chicks that are either blue silver, or black silver.
