The Black Tailed Red Marans are a variety of Marans started by my friend Bill Grover.  Since, there have been a few other breeders working on this variety with hopes of getting another accepted Marans variety in the APA Standard.  2023 I drove all the way to Oklahoma to pick up hatching eggs of this variety. 

I have to admit, that i actually prefer the Black Tail Buff over the Black Tailed Red, and have kept males back from both to put over my 3 hens.  Patience is a virtue.
